How much does it cost?
The M.M.M. program is offered to both veterans and civilians free of charge. Donations are appreciated. We do ask that attendees volunteer for the program at events in return for their training.
Do I have to have a dog?
No, we can help you locate an appropriate dog, view our adoption application by clicking here.
Can I use a dog I already have?
You can, once the dog is evaluated and deemed appropriate by our trainer.
Do I have to be a veteran?
No, M.M.M. accepts both veterans and civilians.
How much does it cost to adopt a dog?
Adoption fees depend on your personal circumstances, and the rescue you adopt from.
Why do you use rescue dogs?
By using rescue dogs - two lives are saved.
What do I need to join your program?
Initially you will need documentation from a certified health care provider attesting to your need for a service dog, and detailing the tasks you need your S.D. to perform.
How do I begin once I have my documentation?
Visit our Program Application Page and fill out the application that pertains to your situation. Once your application is received we will be touch to set up next steps.
Can I come visit a class to see what you do?
Who will train my dog?
M.M.M. is unique in that the actual training of the dog is done by the handler. Your dog will be with you from day one, and we wil train you to train him/her. In the state of Ct. when the handler is training the dog, the dog has all the same rights as a dog that has passed his/her certification - even while in training!
How long does it take?
How long it takes really depends on the amount of work that you put into training. Average time that a dog/handler team is ready for certification is 6 to 8 months.
Where will I get tested?
We do certification testing through our program when you are ready.
Does my animal have to be vaccinated?
We require proof of vetting (including spay/neuter proof) in order to begin training with us yes.
How long does my certification last?
M.M.M. dogs must be recertified every 3-years.
